Name: NACCS Tropical Storm Peak Water Levels (meters)
Display Field: StationId
Type: Feature Layer
Geometry Type: esriGeometryPoint
Description: This dataset displays maximum-predicted water levels from over 1,000 simulations of synthetic tropical storms at save points (~19,000) along the coast. As part of the NACCS, storm surge and wave model results were computed for a set of 1150 combined tropical and extratropical storm events using the coupled ADCIRC/STWAVE models. In this dataset, the model results were interrogated to find the peak (or maximum) water level and wave height for all events at each point. When loaded, the service displays the peak water level in meters from all synthetic tropical storms simulations (1,050 events). The dataset also includes peak water levels from extratropical events (100), peak significant wave heights (from both tropical and extratropical events), and identifies the storm associated with peak events at each point.

Name: NACCS 100-year Return Period Water Levels (meters)
Display Field: StationId
Type: Feature Layer
Geometry Type: esriGeometryPoint
Description: This dataset displays the annual recurrence interval (ARI) statistics for water level at save points (~19,000) along the coast. At each point, storm surge was computed for a set of 1,150 combined tropical and extratropical storm events using the coupled ADCIRC/STWAVE models . Extremal analysis techniques were then applied to develop water level return periods at each point. The service displays the (mean) 100-year water levels at each point in meters relative to NAVD88. The dataset also includes mean water levels at 1-year through 10,0000-year return periods, and plots of the water level-ARI relationship at each point (mean and 95% confidence limits).

Description: This dataset displays track information for the 1,050 synthetic tropical storms that were simulated during the NACCS modeling effort. A total of 130 master storm tracks were developed, which included 89 landfalling and 41 bypassing track paths. Each master track was then populated with discrete storm parameters selected from a joint probability model that considered storm characteristics from three sub-regions of the North Atlantic coast. Parameters include the storm heading (at landfall), central pressure deficit, radius of maximum winds, and translational speed.
